This casino has a large parking area where we were able to get away from the noise of the nearby truck stop. The lot is mostly level, and the price is right - Free. There are lots of restaurants in the area, and a Starbucks within walking distance at the truck stop. We camped at Buffalo Bill's Resort & Casino in a Motorhome.

Primm Valley Casino Resorts (formerly known as Primadonna Casino Resorts) is a group of three hotel-casinos in Primm, Nevada, along Interstate 15 at the California state line. They are owned and operated by Affinity Gaming. It is named after the Primm family, benefactors of the hotel and casino properties by Ernest and Gary Primm.
The hotels are a popular stop on the drive between Las Vegas and California.
The various hotels are connected across I-15 by both a monorail and a defunct amusement train line that was connected with Buffalo Bill's and Whiskey Pete's.

The hotels were built by Gary Primm and the Primm family at State Line, Nevada, the informal name for the area. The family's history in the area is the reason why it received the official name of Primm.
Whiskey Pete's was the first of their hotels. The Primadonna Resort was the second hotel built, and it was later renamed as the Primm Valley Resort. These two hotels are connected by a single car monorail across the I-15.
Buffalo Bill's was the third hotel built. Buffalo Bill's and Primm Valley Resort are connected by a monorail.
The company acquired an option to buy an 18-acre site on the Las Vegas Strip.[1]Gary Primm of Primadonna Resorts approached MGM Grand Inc. president Bob Maxey in 1994 with an idea for the site: a casino recreating the New York skyline.[2] A joint venture was formed between the two companies, and construction began in March 1995.[3] Completed at a cost of $460 million, the New York-New York Hotel and Casino opened in January 1997.[4]
The Las Vegas Outlet Mall was added as a part of the Primadonna Resort in 1998.[5]
On March 1, 1999, MGM Grand Inc. acquired Primadonna Resorts in an all-stock transaction that had been announced on November 9, 1998.[6]
Since the initiation of New York-New York, analysts had speculated that MGM Grand or Primadonna would buy out the other's interest in the project.[7] Instead of making such a cash-intensive purchase,[8] however, MGM agreed to buy Primadonna outright for $276 million in stock plus $336 million in assumed debt.[9] The merger closed in March 1999,[10] giving MGM ownership of three casinos and two golf courses at the Nevada–California state line, in addition to full control of New York-New York.
On October 31, 2006, MGM announced plans to sell Primm Valley Resorts to Herbst Gaming for $400 million. The proposed sale would not include the Primm Valley Golf Club.[11] The sale closed on April 10, 2007.

Buffalo Bill's is a hotel and casino in Primm, Nevada, United States, at the California state line. It is one of the Primm Valley Resorts, owned and operated by Affinity Gaming. It has 1,242 guest rooms and suites. The hotel is home to the Desperadoroller coaster, a hypercoaster with a 225-foot drop and a top speed of 80 mph, as well as a pool in the shape of a buffalo. The hotel-casino has two hotel room towers: the Annie Oakley Tower (the A Tower) and the Buffalo Bill Tower (B Tower). It is named after Buffalo Bill.
The 61,372 sq ft (5,701.6 m2) casino has over 1,700 slot machines, as well as table games, and a race and sports book.[1] Buffalo Bill's is also home of the Star of the Desert Arena, a 6,500-seat arena designed for concerts.[citation needed]

The casino opened on May 14, 1994[2] with 592 hotel rooms, and a new tower was added in 1995.[3]
Give me free casino games. The ribbon cutting for the change of ownership for Primm Valley Resorts from MGM Mirage to Herbst Gaming was held at Buffalo Bill's on April 10, 2007.[4]
Herbst undertook a marketing strategy of appealing especially to California Latinos, including the addition of Spanish-speaking dealers, charter bus trips from the Inland Empire, concerts by norteño musician Ramón Ayala, and a Mexican restaurant branded with Ayala's name.[5]
The interiors and exteriors of the casino were used in the movie Top of the World (1997) starring Peter Weller, Dennis Hopper and Tia Carrere. Today the roller coaster is usually running only on weekends.
In March 2019 Cuca's Mexican Food, originally from Redlands, California, opened their first hotel location in Nevada within Buffalo Bill's. Football moneyline bet. This restaurant is an extension of the brand that has 6 locations in the Inland Empire of California.
As of January 2021, Buffalo Bill's remains closed due to COVID-19 and it is unknown when it will reopen.
Tram to Primm Valley[edit]

A tram links Buffalo Bill's to nearby Primm Valley Resort.[6] The multi-car tram was designed by Schwager-Davis to their UniTrak standard. Despite its name, the tram actually runs on two guideways. Each car accommodates 24 people; the four-car trains can seat 96 people with no standees. The system can transport 2,200 people, per hour, per direction (pphpd). An attendant supervises each tram, although the tram is controlled by a computer.

After disembarking at the Primm Valley Resort station, passengers can connect to a free single-car tram across the I-15 to Whiskey Pete's,[7] although the connection takes a walk across the entire hotel.
